As a fan of Euro-noir, I picked up on Witnesses on Channel 4 a few years ago. It’s now available on Netflix and worth watching if you like that kind of thing. Anyhoo, for me, reason enough to visit Le Tréport where it is set.
After some domestics, I moofed (verb: to ride an electric bike – pay attention at the back there) into the town. As I just told my sister, it’s like Aberystwyth on acid. Seaside town, lovely but faded, pebble beach,
with a funicular railway,
but here they’ve gone for colour, detailing the houses in every flavour of ice cream.
The sun was warm, the sea was green, ice cream was licked, and, perhaps as an antidote to the colour, you could get clothes in any colour, as long as it was white.
