Monday 13 August. Ribe was a bit random, offering a free pitch on the edge of a nature reserve, but it’s a lovely town, all cobbled streets and relatively underdeveloped.
There were plenty of visitors, possibly with the local Viking museum as their main destination, but the cathedral at the centre of the town was impressive.
After a bit of supermarket shopping, and prices aren’t an issue, I rode to the coast.
When the tide is out, you can get to Mandø, a small nature reserve. There was persistent light rain but it was good to get into the countryside; still very flat.
The plan, over the next few days, is to get to Skagen, the northernmost point of Denmark, and I’ve mapped out the next half a dozen stops.
